For nearly eighty years the British Cattle Breeders Club has brought farmers, scientists and industry together to turn research into better breeding on British farms.
BCBC Conference 2027 · 25 to 27 January · Telford · Bookings open autumn 2026 · Save the date
The Club is a unique forum where dairy and beef farmers, breeders, vets, geneticists and researchers meet as equals. Our annual conference, digests and farm walks share the science that matters, in plain language, ready to use at the farmgate.
For nearly eighty years the Club has brought research and practice together, and it remains as independent and welcoming today as when Sir John Hammond founded it in 1946.
Membership is open to anyone with an interest in cattle breeding: farmers, students, vets and scientists alike.
Three days in Telford each January: Beef Day, Dairy Day, workshops and the Sir John Hammond Award.
Conference papers written up in plain language, a library of practical breeding knowledge since 1946.
Conference videos, presentations, extended news and the full Digest archive, exclusive to members.
Next January's programme will explore breeding resilient herds for a changing climate, with speakers from research and the farmgate.
Join us at Underhill Farm to see a commercial suckler herd's breeding programme in action, followed by tea and discussion.
The Club welcomes its new Chair following January's AGM at the Telford conference, with warm thanks to the outgoing Chair.
Sign up for the BCBC newsletter and get conference announcements, news and digests straight to your inbox.
