Joe Banks
Committee Member
Originally from a non-farming background, Joe grew up with an interest in all things agriculture, stealing himself away as often as possible to visit his uncle, who milked 120 pedigree Ayrshire cows in a little village near South Molton, North Devon. This just fuelled his passion and love for the industry. After studying for a degree at Cardiff University he joined Mole Valley Farmers, working in many different parts of the business and gaining experience in all areas of farming, from soil science to the basics of animal medicine and agri retail, achieving both AMTRA and FACTS qualifications. He then joined Crediton Milling as a feed adviser, obtaining a diploma in ruminant nutrition from Harper Adams, then worked as a sales consultant for Lely exploring on-farm automation. In 2025 he joined ForFarmers as a ruminant account manager based in the South West and South Wales team.
Joe currently lives in North Devon with his young family and three working springer spaniels. He is very keen on country pursuits: both shooting and mountain biking take up his spare time when he isn't spending it with his family. He has kept a small number of his own livestock over the years, peaking with a flock of 50 New Zealand bred Romney ewes tupped to Texel. Joe hopes his passion and love for farming will be reflected in what he brings to the committee and club.
