Andrew Rutter: genetics to deliver a cow fit for purpose

Back home/News/Andrew Rutter: genetics to deliver a cow fit for
Dairy farmer Andrew Rutter speaker at BCBC 2022

Changes at Clayhanger Farm, near Haslington in Cheshire, have led to a dramatic improvement in the performance and efficiency of its 400 strong herd of Holsteins. Partner and herd manager Andrew Rutter joined his family business after nearly 20 years working for a genetics company. He set himself the remit of producing a cow which was more efficient and profitable, had less environmental impact and more sustainable, while also being easier to care for.

Speaking in the Dairy Room at 11.15am Andrew will share with delegates exactly how he has achieved it, producing a herd which is impressive to the eye as well as on the balance sheet.
